Priyamani In 2007

Priyamani is thrilled at being chosen as the best actress for her strong portrayal in Paruthiveeran at the Asian film festival recently held in Delhi. Though the actress had been part of several films before, it was Paruthiveeran which gave her recognition. In this blockbuster, she plays a village belle, who tragically dies in the end.

It was a tough and challenging role but she was confident that she would come out well. It is very rare to come across such a sensitive theme in Tamil cinema these days. Hats off to "Priya". In 2007, Paruthiveeran was a big hit in box office and it also came in top 10 .
